WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04), a Member of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, called on Nassau County fire departments to apply for the FEMA Staffing For Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program. This program provides federal funding directly to fire departments to hire new firefighters and help recruit and retain volunteer firefighters.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) and Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) led a bipartisan letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and United States Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff urging that any nuclear deal with Iran must permanently dismantle its capacity to enrich uranium. The letter additionally calls for snapback sanctions to be applied if negotiations does not achieve a full dismantlement of Iran’s nuclear program.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) and Congressman Andrew Garbarino (NY-02) released a bipartisan letter urging the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (CJS) to increase funding for the Department of Justice’s State Criminal Alien Assistance Program in the upcoming CJS appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2026.
