WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) introduced an amendment to House Republicans’ reconciliation package that would eliminate any limitation on the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction, which was capped at $10,000 as part of the 2017 GOP tax bill. Gillen’s amendment would fulfill the President’s pledge to “get SALT back”, which he made during a trip to New York’s Fourth Congressional District in 2024.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (D-NY-04) held a press call with Congressman Mike Lawler (R-NY-17) to announce the introduction of H.R. 2049, the Access to Family Building Act of 2025, which they led alongside Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01). This bipartisan bill would codify the right to access IVF nationwide. The Access to Family Building Act of 2025 is the only bipartisan bill providing a federal statutory right to access IVF that has been introduced in the 119th Congress.
