Communities across Nassau County’s South Shore face persistent levels of noise pollution affecting families in neighborhoods directly under major flight paths in and out of John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport, two of the nation's busiest airports.

HEMPSTEAD, NY - In case you missed it, the Long Island Press reported on Congresswoman Laura Gillen’s newly introduced bill, the “Bipartisan Traffic Safety Enhancement Act,” which is aimed at improving local infrastructure to limit vehicular-related deaths. Gillen announced the introduction of the bipartisan legislation during an event in Hempstead Village, where she highlighted the Village’s recent application for a USDOT Safe Streets for All (SS4A) planning and development grant.
