WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04), a Member of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, called on Nassau County fire departments to apply for the FEMA Staffing For Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program. This program provides federal funding directly to fire departments to hire new firefighters and help recruit and retain volunteer firefighters.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) and Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) led a bipartisan letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and United States Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff urging that any nuclear deal with Iran must permanently dismantle its capacity to enrich uranium. The letter additionally calls for snapback sanctions to be applied if negotiations does not achieve a full dismantlement of Iran’s nuclear program.

Medicaid provides essential medical services to millions of children, seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans across our country, including 170,000 of my constituents in New York’s 4th Congressional District. These reductions will surely hurt recipients, but it is important to note that the impact of this budget cutback will stretch far beyond just these groups.
