HEMPSTEAD, NY - In case you missed it, the Long Island Press reported on Congresswoman Laura Gillen’s newly introduced bill, the “Bipartisan Traffic Safety Enhancement Act,” which is aimed at improving local infrastructure to limit vehicular-related deaths. Gillen announced the introduction of the bipartisan legislation during an event in Hempstead Village, where she highlighted the Village’s recent application for a USDOT Safe Streets for All (SS4A) planning and development grant.

Roundabouts are one of 28 proven safety countermeasures endorsed by the Federal Highway Administration to reduce traffic collisions and vehicular fatalities:
