WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (D-NY-04) and Congressman Rob Bresnahan (R-PA-08), members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced the release of H.R. 3440, the Bipartisan Traffic Safety Enhancement Act of 2025, which would authorize the use of federal surface transportation block grants for constructing roundabouts. Roundabouts are one of 28 proven safety countermeasures endorsed by the Federal Highway Administration to reduce traffic collisions and vehicular fatalities:

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04), a Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, proposed an amendment to the Promoting Efficient Review for Modern Infrastructure Today (PERMIT) Act during a Committee markup. Rep. Gillen's amendment would require the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to certify that none of the bill’s proposals increase the discharge of cancer-causing pollutants, including PFAS, before they can be implemented.
