HEMPSTEAD, NY - In case you missed it, the Long Island Press reported on Congresswoman Laura Gillen’s newly introduced bill, the “Bipartisan Traffic Safety Enhancement Act,” which is aimed at improving local infrastructure to limit vehicular-related deaths. Gillen announced the introduction of the bipartisan legislation during an event in Hempstead Village, where she highlighted the Village’s recent application for a USDOT Safe Streets for All (SS4A) planning and development grant.

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04), a Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, proposed an amendment to the Promoting Efficient Review for Modern Infrastructure Today (PERMIT) Act during a Committee markup. Rep. Gillen's amendment would require the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to certify that none of the bill’s proposals increase the discharge of cancer-causing pollutants, including PFAS, before they can be implemented.
