Gillen Statement on the Senseless Murder of Oded Lifshitz and Bibas Family by Hamas Terrorists

GARDEN CITY, NY – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) released the following statement after the bodies of four hostage, including two children who were taken captive during the October 7th terrorist attack, were returned to Israeli authorities: 

“Today is a dark, devastating day for Israel and everyone who hoped and prayed for the safe return of Oded Lifschitz and Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas. I am outraged by the terrorist group Hamas’ monstrous murder of innocent children and civilians. Hamas must be completely dismantled and never allowed to return to power. 

“Just days ago, I met with Oded’s grandson Daniel, who came to Capitol Hill to share his grandfather’s lifetime of humanitarian work to help the Palestinian people. While we mourn Oded, Shiri, Ariel, Kfir and the more than 1,200 Israelis murdered by Hamas on October 7th and after, we will continue to fight until every remaining hostage is safely returned.”
