Gillen Statement Marking 52nd Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) released the following statement today marking the 52nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision: 

“Fifty-two years ago, the Supreme Court guaranteed women across America the right to make their own decisions about their health care and family planning. For decades, Roe v. Wade ensured that women had access to the full range of reproductive health care and power over their futures. 

“Since the disastrous Dobbs decision, we’ve seen nothing short of an all-out assault on our reproductive rights and freedoms, including Republican attempts to pass a national abortion ban while rolling back access to contraception and IVF. America’s women deserve better – in Congress, I’ll continue to defend New Yorkers’ rights and fight to restore and codify reproductive freedom nationwide.”
