“Thank you, Senator Gillibrand. I’m grateful for your leadership on a permanent funding fix for the World Trade Center Health Program. Thank you to Rep. Garbarino and Rep. Goldman for their strong, bipartisan advocacy for this bill in the House.

“Thank you to John Feal, Thomas Hart, Andrew Ansbro, Jim Brosi, Frank Conti, and Mariama James for sharing their stories with us today and for their tireless advocacy for the 9/11 community.

“We will never forget the thousands of innocent lives lost on 9/11, including 349 Nassau County residents, and the sacrifices made by the FDNY, NYPD, the Port Authority Police Department, and all the heroic first responders, law enforcement, and emergency personnel who answered the call on the darkest day in our nation’s history.

“Tens of thousands of 9/11 first responders and survivors, including nearly 7,000 of my constituents in New York’s Fourth Congressional District, count on the World Trade Center Health Program.

“No one in the 9/11 community should ever have to worry about receiving the health care that they deserve.

“Congress must do right by 9/11 first responders and survivors. This critical bill will ensure that the program remains fully staffed and fully funded.

“I’m proud to be an original co-sponsor, and I’ll continue to work with my New York delegation colleagues to serve the 9/11 community in Congress."
